A South Korean woman took a drug to treat erectile dysfunction in a man after a jury convicted her of the crime.
Sung-Qun Lee, 45, of Jeonju, North Korea, was convicted on seven counts of trafficking in counterfeit goods, trafficking in a drug and smuggling and distribution of goods, according to the South Korean Central Bureau of Investigation (SCBI).
The jury in the case found Lee had agreed to sell a mixture of counterfeit Viagra and a liquid suspension containing sildenafil and another drug called tadalafil, and paid Viagra and the liquid suspension back to her and her mother.
The jury convicted Lee of trafficking in counterfeit goods and trafficking in a drug, and sentenced her to one year in prison.
"The jury was not impressed with the seriousness of the charges and the very high possibility that the crime was a deliberate and unintentional one," prosecutors said in sentencing Lee. "While it is clear that the defendant was aware of the seriousness of the case, the jury was impressed with the strong defense of justice that she was convicted of this case."
Prosecutors say the jury convicted Lee of a crime of trafficking in counterfeit goods. However, prosecutors say they were not impressed with the seriousness of the case and that they did not believe the verdict was true.
The case is still ongoing. U. S. District Judge Gyeon Oh, who reviews the case after a three-month trial, will decide the case on Wednesday.
The South Korean justice system has a strong case against Lee, who was convicted in 2012 of selling unlicensed and counterfeit goods. The case was investigated by the South Korean Central Bureau of Investigation.
After a five-month investigation, prosecutors say Lee sold counterfeit Viagra and a liquid suspension containing sildenafil to undercover South Korean customs officials. The case was prosecuted by the United States Department of Justice.
District Judge Gyeon Oh, who reviews criminal charges after a three-month investigation, will decide the case on Wednesday.Yoh Law Group

Ben Stecher, who sold and distributed the drug Viagra in Greater Manchester from 2018, was found guilty of two counts of distribution of a controlled substance on June 27, 2018, at the High Sheriff Court for Manchester.
The judge heard that from April 18, 2018, a confidential undercover police officer from Greater Manchester had approached Stecher on the same day and he had obtained a supply of Viagra from a trusted supplier. The undercover officer went to the address to which the officer was travelling and purchased the medication from Stecher. During the course of the conversation, the undercover officer asked the person whom he wanted to purchase the medication from, who said he was not interested and Stecher stated that he was not interested.
The officer replied that he wanted to buy Viagra but that he could not afford the price at all. However, the undercover officer bought Viagra through a website that was operating illegally, and the online pharmacy that the officer used was selling to him. The undercover officer stated that he was going to the pharmacy to buy it. The officer then asked the person to whom he wanted to buy Viagra and the person replied that he had not even mentioned it.
He then asked the person to provide a photo ID and state where he had purchased the medication from. After some time had passed, the person who had bought Viagra from Stecher stated that he was going to the pharmacy to buy it. However, the person who had bought Viagra from him said that they had purchased the medication from him on a recent holiday and that it was not his usual or recent activity. The undercover officer then asked the person who purchased the medication to state why he had not told the person who had purchased the medication. The undercover officer stated that the person who had bought the medication was from a different area and that the person was not a pharmacist and was not the person who was selling the medication to the undercover officer.
The judge heard that the undercover officer had travelled to Greater Manchester from Great Ormond Street in the Greater Manchester area to purchase Viagra. The undercover officer had travelled from Manchester City.
The judge said: ‘‘This person bought Viagra from this website and the pharmacy that they used was selling to a person called Mr Stecher.’’
He said: ‘‘This person had been purchasing and obtaining Viagra from Mr Stecher’s website and he was in possession of Viagra. This person bought Viagra from this website and he said that he was going to the pharmacy to buy it. This person purchased Viagra through a website operating illegally and that the website that was operating illegally had come into being on April 18, 2018, and that it was not his usual or recent activity.’
The judge said that the undercover officer was between 18 and 30 years old, and that he was not the first to buy Viagra online, and had not been able to find a legitimate pharmacy that was selling the medication to the undercover officer.
Cialis Together (10mg tadalafil) is an effective treatment for men with erectile dysfunction (ED). It belongs to a class of drugs known as phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors.
